On Wednesday 14th October, the Keynote Speaker for the day will be Prof. Laban. A. Ogallo. He will deliver a presentation on : 'Water, Agriculture and food security challenges under changing weather and climate threats'
Prof Laban Ogallo is a renowned climate scientist currently serving the International weather and climate community as a scientific advisory Board (SAB) member of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). Prof Ogallo has spearheaded to foundation and formation of many African National, Regional and International weather and climate services institutions and programmes including the present day IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), WMO Climate Applications CLIPS Programme, Climate variability and Predictability (CLIVAR) and the overall World Climate Research Programme (WCRP). Laban holds a PhD and MSc in Meteorology as well as honors BSc in Mathematics, Physics and Meteorology, University of Nairobi.
